At Hometown RV, we pride ourselves on making the rental process simple and enjoyable. We are always happy to answer questions you may have. Following are some of the most common questions we hear. Feel free to contact us for additional information.

Q: Is it difficult to operate a motorhome?
A: There are many systems involved in the operation of your motorhome. We offer an extensive orientation to make sure our customers are comfortable with all aspects of their unit. We have successfully helped renters of every experience level to have a safe and enjoyable vacation.

Q: What size motorhome is right for our vacation?
A: There are "Class A" and "Class C" type units. Most people have the impression that Class A units are larger. Since there are Class C motorhomes that are longer than some Class A motorhomes, this is not strictly true.

The primary difference is that Class C motorhomes typically have better sleeping capacity because of the queen size bed above the cab. This lack of overhead structure along with an elevated floor gives Class A motorhomes a more open, roomy feel to the living area. Remember, convertible sleeping areas like folding couches and dinettes are usually suitable for two children or one shorter adult. Use our comparison chart to help determine the size that's right for your group.

Q: What happens if our motorhome breaks down?
A: All of our rental units return to our location at the end of each trip. There are no one-way rentals where service issues are passed down the line. We are fanatics about preventative maintenance and place current model year units in service every season. It is simply not possible for an older unit to be as dependable as a newer one. We encourage you to come and tour the actual unit you would be using. There is an 800 number for roadside assistance in the unlikely event of a problem.

Q: How much does it cost to rent a motorhome?
A: We have found that if all costs are included, a good "ball park" estimate of a weekly RV rental is between $1,200 and $1,600 dollars. There are many factors that cause this number to vary:
- Size of the motorhome (We have six different floorplans from 23' to 32')
- Distance of the trip (Most renters find that trips longer than 1500 miles per week are less enjoyable)
- Duration of the trip
- Time of year

Q: Why would I rent from Hometown RV versus a national chain?
A: When all costs are compared, our units typically rent for the same or less than the national chains. Price, however, is where the similarity ends. The motorhomes we put in service are not generic "rental units" made specifically for this purpose. They are the same high quality Dutchmen Motorhomes that we sell to our retail customers. You will never see "1-800 rent me" on the side of one of our units.

Because we have no one-way rentals, we can stay on top of service issues rather than passing them on (or receiving them from) some distant rental outlet.

Hometown RV is a local company that thrives on the reputation of having the highest quality rental program in the area. We care about our reputation and it shows!
